Welcome to Sissons Farm Equestrian Centre


In 1992, Nick and Ann Harris decided to diversify from pure farming and move into the ‘Horse World’ and started with a Cross Country Schooling course – designed by the late Bill Thompson. They successfully run Hunter Trials for six years and these jumps are now available for hire for schooling purposes.

In 2001, the equine side was expanded further with twelve new stables converted from an old farm barn with financial help and assistance from EEDA. 2002 saw the expansion continue with the building of the 60m x 45m floodlit arena (now sponsored by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles) and this provides the perfect riding surface in all conditions. The Warm-up arena is now 50m x 30m and fully fenced.

Since September 2002, evening and weekend competitions have been giving pleasure to many local and regional competitors. Show Jumping competitions are usually run in the “two stage jumping format” ie clear round followed immediately by timed jump off course; this has proved very popular with clients, saving them time waiting about. Affiliated Dressage arrived in 2003, with the Equestrian Centre holding monthly competitions from February to November each year (at a standard of Preliminary up to Advanced Medium.)

Nick and Ann were very pleased to have been awarded a two day Festival for Affiliated Dressage from British Dressage, which was held at the Centre during August 2007. A fantastic weekend was had by all.

The local Pony Clubs hold regular training sessions at Sissons and Rally days are held during school holidays which are very popular and are always well supported.

At the on-site Livery, the 19 superb Stables are well built, lit and ventilated, at very competitive prices. The Centre offers all the above facilities and good, safe, off-road routes for hacking enthusiasts.

Nick & Ann take great pride in their abilities to offer a friendly and approachable service to a broad and ever expanding client base. Their motto is “Stride to Perfection” and the aim is to continually improve all facilities.
